Diatomaceous Earth (DE) Pool Filters
DE filters work similarly to sand filters but use different sifting materials. DE filters typically contain a network of “fingers” coated with silica compounds. Ridges on the silica capture particles as the water passes over, removing them from the pool. DE filters can trap much smaller particles than sand filters can.
