Getting new pool equipment is the easy part. Getting it installed so it actually performs the way the manufacturer intended is where most pool owners run into trouble. A pool pump plumbed with undersized fittings will cavitate and burn out inside two years. A chlorinator wired without proper earthing creates a safety hazard you cannot see. A filter installed without matching the flow rate to your pool size pushes water too fast for the media to catch fine particles, and you end up with cloudy water despite doing everything else right.

It is tempting to save a few hundred dollars and install pool equipment yourself or use a general handyman. But the cost of getting it wrong always lands harder than the cost of getting it right the first time.
Installed Correctly, Equipment Lasts Longer
A Davey ProMaster VSD pump installed with correct pipe sizing and adequate priming head will run 10 to 12 years with basic maintenance. The same pump installed with mismatched plumbing and no non-return valve might not make it past three. We see this regularly on call outs, new pumps failing not because of a manufacturing fault but because the installation did not account for the pool’s specific plumbing layout.
Fewer Breakdowns And Fewer Frequent Repairs
Proper installation means your filtration system, pump and chlorinator work together as a complete system rather than fighting each other. When flow rates are balanced and electrical connections are clean, you avoid the cascade of frequent repairs that comes from one poorly installed component stressing everything downstream. A Scarborough customer called us after their third pump seal failure in eighteen months. The issue was not the seal. It was a restriction in the suction line from the original install that caused the pump to run under strain every cycle.
Energy Efficiency And Lower Running Costs
The benefits of expert pool equipment installation show up most clearly on your energy bill. A pool pump that is correctly sized and installed for your pool runs efficiently instead of working harder than it needs to. Energy efficient variable speed pumps from AstralPool or Pentair can cut energy costs by 60 to 70 percent compared to a single speed unit, but only if the installation accounts for your pipe diameter, total dynamic head and pool volume. Get those numbers wrong and you lose most of the saving, and the pump never reaches optimal performance.

The pump is the engine of your pool system. We install new pumps from Davey, AstralPool and Pentair, including variable speed models that adjust output based on demand. Pool pump installation includes connecting to your existing plumbing, wiring, testing flow rates and programming speed settings. If your house runs bore water, we factor in the higher mineral loads that chew through seals faster in areas like Ellenbrook and Wanneroo.
We install cartridge, sand and glass media filters sized to your pool volume and pump output. Glass media filters down to 3 microns versus sand’s 20, which makes a visible difference in water quality, particularly if your water source carries fine particles from bore or scheme supply. We also handle filter replacements when your existing unit stops catching what it should.
Heat pumps from Madimack and Rheem, gas heaters from Raypak, and solar heating systems configured to your roof angle and orientation. Adrian fitted a Madimack inverter heat pump for a family in Duncraig last winter and they swam through July for the first time in over a decade. Pool heating installation includes plumbing, electrical connections, controller setup and testing across the full temperature range.
Saltwater chlorinators from AstralPool, Zodiac and Waterco, matched to your pool size. A properly installed chlorinator with the cell sized correctly to your volume produces consistent chlorine levels without the constant manual dosing. Perth’s high UV burns through chlorine faster than southern states, so we configure output levels to account for that.
Robotic cleaners from Maytronics and Zodiac that operate independently of your filtration system. We also install suction and pressure cleaners where the pool layout suits them. Robotic cleaners handle floors, walls and the waterline, which means your pool filter deals with less debris and your pump runs more efficiently between service visits.
LED pool lighting in white or colour changing options, installed to replace old halogen fittings that draw three to four times the power. Underwater lighting improves safety after dark and changes how your pool looks and feels at night. We handle the electrical work, waterproofing and control wiring.
Manual and automatic pool covers that reduce evaporation by up to 95 percent, retain heat, and keep leaves and debris out. A pool cover paired with a heating system will cut your heating costs significantly and extend your swimming season by months.
